A former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev Prof Emmanuel Martey, has described people criticising President Nana Akufo-Addo as “unwise”.

He explained that most of those condemning the president from the major opposition party had also been in a power but failed to create a better Ghana.

“All those who are making those unwise statements that Akufo-Addo has failed…I hear some of them; they have been there [for] eight years and they have not been able to do anything and they are querying those who just came.”

“I’m calling upon those unwise people to stop querying. They should wait and pray that this present government delivers,” he added.

He rather urged the critics to support the Nana Addo-led administration to succeed.

Rev Prof Martey also said that some of the appointees within the new Nana Addo led administration are corrupt.

According to Prof. Martey, "the NPP also has bad elements...even some of their appointees are not correct...they are corrupt."

Even though he failed to provide evidence of his statements preferring to make a quote from the Bible instead: "Blessed are those who do not see but believe" (John 20:29).
